Kinetic Typography

After viewing a few professionally created kinetic typography works, we were asked to select the audio source files to use for our own piece. Being a bit of a “Whovian,” I chose to go with a scene between The Doctor and Clara Oswald from Doctor Who. I began by creating several pages of sketches to represent what phrases should share screen time and how the overall flow of the piece should be created.  Of course one of the most essential aspects of a kinetic typography is the timing of the words on the screen. To ensure that the timing was perfect I first created a version of the piece with no specific animations, just the dialogue popping in at precisely the right second. (Check that out here.)
